I, Bruce Elliott, created this website long ago and now (February 2019), having been around for some ninety-five years, I need to turn its maintenance over to a younger Elliott, someone who is also smarter and better looking than me. A guy or gal from Pop-Pop & Gam's third or fourth generation – their grandchild or great grandchild.
What are the requirements of the job and what's the compensation? Well, the requirements are very reasonable indeed and the compensation is absolutely terrific.
The webmaster of this site must be a member of the Elliott Clan started by Pop-Pop & Gam and thus be listed in the Members page of this site, or be the spouse of such a member. Age, gender, politics, or comedic talent are of no concern. Of definite concern are these qualities: care about the P/G Elliott Clan; want to maintain this site well for the good of the entire family; have the time, energy and talent to maintain the site routinely; be diligent, dependable and perseverant in character. He or she does not need to be a computer expert but, in addition to being proficient with the English language, must be able to do simple HTML coding and upload files onto the Internet.
No messy WYSIWYG stuff to learn or fiddle with unless you're a devotee of needless complexity. The idea of this website is to present information for and about the Elliott extended family in a clear, simple and easily navigated fashion. No fancy stuff, no bells and whistles, no videos or other animation, no ads, no politics, no baloney. Just real cool Elliott style.
I taught myself the necessary stuff to do this, and many others have done it too. It's just not a big deal. You simply use any ordinary text editor, write your stuff in it in plain English, and then add a few HTML tags that you can easily learn. I'll help you of course, if you like. Any Elliott can do it if they want to and apply themselves to the simple task. How about you? Want an interesting and rewarding challenge?
